Brandon University names next president

Brandon University has named its next president and vice-chancellor.

Christine Cnossen will officially begin her term on Sept. 1, several months earlier than the originally anticipated Jan. 1 start date.

Current president David Docherty “has agreed to step away from the position slightly earlier than planned” and will be taking administrative leave starting in September, a Thursday news release said.

Cnossen most recently served as provost and deputy vice-chancellor at the University of East Anglia in Norwich, in the United Kingdom.
