A man has been charged after another bus passenger was attacked with bear spray.

Officers with the Winnipeg Police Service’s north district were sent to an evacuated Winnipeg Transit bus after the incident at about 5:30 p.m. Saturday. The WPS did not disclose the location.

Police arrested the suspect on the bus. The male victim fled and has not been identified. No other passengers were injured, the WPS said Monday.

Floyd Alex Chartrand, 45, of Winnipeg has been charged possession of a weapon, mischief under $5,000 and failing to comply with conditions of probation.
