A Winnipeg man and woman have been arrested after a Winnipeg Transit passenger was assaulted and robbed after getting off the bus in the West End.

Winnipeg police said on Saturday that the robbery took place at the bus stop at Ellice Avenue and Valour Road on Friday at 11:37 p.m.

Police said a verbal argument occurred between the three on the bus and, when they all got off the bus, a 54-year-old man was assaulted and robbed. The man, while injured, did not go to get medical attention.

A police dog was able to track the two suspects to the 1000 block of Spruce Street where they were arrested and the victim’s property recovered.

A 38-year-old man has been charged with robbery while a 41-year-old woman faces a robbery charge. The man was detained in custody while the woman was released on an undertaking.
