Carruthers eliminated at men’s curling provincials

The No. 1 seed at the Manitoba Men’s Curling Provincials in Selkirk is heading home early.
Reigning back-to-back champion Reid Carruthers fell 10-5 to Carberry’s Kelly Marnoch in a Page 3 vs. 4 qualifier game Saturday afternoon. It was the third and final strike for Carruthers who lost games to Brett Walter and Jordon McDonald on Friday.
Marnoch advances to play Walter in the Page 3 vs. 4 game tonight. The Page 1 vs. 2 game features McDonald and Braden Calvert. Both games start at 7 p.m.
