Child hit by moving train in Weston

Winnipeg police say a child is in stable condition after being injured by a moving train Friday night.

Officers were called to the 1300 block of Winnipeg Avenue West around 8:45 p.m. for a report of the incident. The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service was also on scene and transported the child to hospital.

Police are reminding the public to be extremely cautious when around active rail lines, advising them to never climb on rail equipment or approach a moving train under any circumstance.
