City workers will soon begin visiting Winnipeg homes to read water meters.
The City of Winnipeg’s annual water meter reading program will begin on Monday and continue until Aug. 28, the city said on Friday.
Water meter readers will make the visits between 9 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. on weekdays.
The city says the workers will wear City of Winnipeg branded uniforms, carry a hand-held meter reader device, present photo identification and only knock on front and side doors.
The city has advised people to ask for ID before letting a worker inside.
Officials ask for homeowners to ensure their water meter is easily accessible and to secure their dogs when a worker arrives.
