Winnipeg’s population increased by more than 30,000 people last year.
Statistics Canada information released Wednesday said there were 820,474 people in the Winnipeg economic region as of July 1, compared with 789,750 at the same time in 2022. That’s an increase of 30,724.
Winnipeg’s population also grew in terms of the census metropolitan area, to 910,240 from 876,263 — an increase of 33,977.
The total population among Canada’s 41 census metropolitan areas increased by 3.5 per cent, compared with 3.9 per cent in Winnipeg.
