Federated Co-operatives Limited has shut down some systems at retail and cardlock fuel locations following a “cybersecurity incident,” the company said in a public announcement Thursday.

The co-operative didn’t answer a reporter’s questions about which locations and systems were affected, what kind of cybersecurity attack was occurring nor how long it’s been an issue for.

Affected systems are “internal and customer facing,” the public statement reads. They’ve been closed as a precaution; third party experts are involved and an investigation is underway, according to Federated Co-op.

The business is Red River Co-op’s parent company.
