The Winnipeg Construction Association has announced Darryl Harrison as its new president and CEO.
Harrison currently serves as director of stakeholder engagement. He will pick up the reins from Ron Hambley, who announced his retirement in late March. Hambley served as the association’s president for more than 26 years.
“I’m honoured to take on this role at WCA,” Harrison said in a news release. “Construction is a cornerstone of Manitoba’s economy, and the work our members do every day is critical to building and sustaining our communities. WCA has an important role to play in ensuring the industry remains strong, competitive, and positioned for the future.”
Harrison’s priorities for the association include strengthening member value, advancing workforce development, advocating for fair and transparent procurement, and reinforcing WCA’s role as a trusted convener and voice for the industry, the release said.
Harrison begins his new role on June 1.
