The City of Winnipeg says nearly all of this year’s scheduled construction projects have been tendered, with work already underway or starting soon.

Nearly $165 million is budgeted for street improvements in 2025.

Work has begun on the Pembina Highway overpass at Abinojii Mikanah, and rehabilitation work on the Pembina bridges over the La Salle River will continue.

Interim repairs will happen on the Louise Bridge through early summer and on the Midtown Bridge in the fall.

Work will also be done on several major traffic corridors, including the second and final year of work on two projects: Inkster Boulevard between Aikins Street and Lansdowne Avenue and westbound Abinojii Mikanah between St. Anne’s and River roads.

Other work will occur on McGregor Street between McAdam and Church avenues and on Dugald Road between Plessis Road and Ravenhurst Street.

Mayor Scott Gillingham and public works committee chairwoman Coun. Janice Lukes held a news conference on construction season at the Pembina overpass at Abinojii Mikanah on Wednesday morning.
