Crews battle blaze on Stella Avenue

The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service was called to a vacant home on the 500 block of Stella Avenue for reports of a fire Friday night.

When crews arrived, smoke and flames were coming from the house. The fire was declared under control at 8:37 p.m.

No one was found inside the home and no injuries were reported.

The City of Winnipeg is reminding residents to call 911 if they actively see someone attempting to enter a vacant building.

The incident can be reported to 311 if residents see boarded windows or doors that have been breached if no one is actively entering the building.
