The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service was called to a vacant and boarded house on the 400 block of Aberdeen Avenue early Saturday.
When crews arrived, smoke was coming from the house and declared the fire under control at 1:06 a.m.
No injuries were reported and the fire is being investigated.
The city is asking residents to call 911 if they witness someone actively entering a vacant building or removing boards from a building’s windows or doors. Residents can call 311 if boarded windows and doors have been breached, but there isn’t anyone trying to actively enter the building.
