Crews respond to fires on Marlene Street, Dugald Road

The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service was called to a housing complex on Marlene Street in the Lavalee neighbourhood for reports of a fire around 3 a.m. Saturday.
When crews arrived, smoke and flames were coming from the building. The fire was under control at 3:43 a.m., a weekend news release said.
One patient was assessed by paramedics, but they didn’t require hospitalization.
Firefighters also responded to a blaze in a commercial building on the 1500 block of Dugald Road around 11:30 p.m. Friday.
The fire was declared under control in about 45 minutes and no injuries were reported.
Both fires are being investigated.
