Crews respond to Henderson Hwy. high-rise fire

A high-rise apartment building fire is under investigation after thick smoke and fire broke out on Saturday afternoon on Henderson Highway.
The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service was called to the building in the 1600 block of Henderson Highway just before 4 p.m. on Saturday. Additional crews were sent to the scene since the building was a high rise, the WFPS stated in a news release Sunday, and residents in the building sheltered in place while crews worked.
Crews declared the fire under control at 5:17 p.m. and no injuries were reported.
