CALGARY — The Winnipeg Blue Bombers top receiver Dalton Schoen is expected to miss the remainder of the 2024 CFL season, Blue Bombers head coach Mike O’Shea confirmed Friday.
“It’s looking like it’s going to be the full year,” O’Shea said during his media availability in Calgary. “I always hate to say that because you want to give the guy hope and as much opportunity to come back. You certainly want to do. You don’t want to put something in their head and have them not fired up to do the work every day. Dalton is going to be putting in a lot of work and I would hate to hold him back.”
A TSN report earlier this week stated Schoen would miss the remainder of the year after suffering a knee injury partway through a Week 3 loss to the B.C. Lions. Schoen, 27, led the CFL in receiving and touchdowns as a rookie in 2022, and paced the league again in TDs last year despite missing two games.
The Bombers (0-3) will be looking for their first win of the season when they take on the Calgary Stampeders (1-1) at McMahon Stadium Saturday night.
