The Manitoba government is directing nearly $1.5 million to the Deloraine-Winchester Airport.
Upgrades will improve safety and access for STARS air ambulance services, and will support aerial surveillance by the Canada Border Services Agency, Municipal Minister Glen Simard said Thursday.
Money will go toward repaving the airport’s runway and improving lighting systems. The project is slated to finish this fall.
The airport will also be reclassified from rural to regional.
