ST. LOUIS – The Winnipeg Jets will be without top-pairing defenceman Dylan DeMelo for Game 3 of the first-round series with the St. Louis Blues.
DeMelo, who missed Tuesday’s skate for maintenance, took the morning skate on Thursday but was a late scratch after he didn’t come out for the pre-game warmup.
He was replaced in the lineup by veteran blue-liner Colin Miller, who made his series debut after suiting up in 60 games during the regular season.
With DeMelo out, it looked like Neal Pionk was going to move up with Josh Morrissey, Luke Schenn shifted onto a pairing with Dylan Samberg and Logan Stanley was going to be with Miller, based on the line rushes.
The Blues made a change as well, scratching veteran defenceman Ryan Suter as Tyler Tucker stayed in the lineup and Alexandre Texier draws in up front.
The Jets lead the best-of-seven series 2-0 after winning the first two games of the series on home ice.
