The driver of an SUV that RCMP say was stolen from Winnipeg collided with a farm tractor on a highway southwest of Brandon and died Monday morning.
Virden RCMP were called to the scene on Highway 21, just south of Provincial Road 543, in the Rural Municipality of Sifton just after 9 a.m.
Mounties say investigators have determined the SUV, which had earlier been stolen in Winnipeg, was heading south on the highway when it crossed the centre line and hit the northbound tractor.
The SUV driver, a 31-year-old man from Stonewall, was pronounced dead at the scene, while the tractor driver, a 21-year-old man, was not physically hurt.
Virden RCMP and a collision reconstruction specialist are still investigating.
