A Winnipeg man is dead after a pickup truck going the wrong way on the north Perimeter Highway crashed in the area of Lagimodiere Boulevard.
RCMP were called about an eastbound truck in the westbound lanes at about 4:40 a.m. and were headed there when they were told about a crash at that location.
Officers found the truck in a westbound lane. The driver and lone occupant of the vehicle, a 34-year-old man, was transported to hospital and pronounced dead.
Mounties said the truck hit a concrete divider at what appeared to be a high rate of speed.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash. Mounties are investigating.
