A vacant duplex on Aberdeen Avenue is set to be demolished after it was gutted by fire, exactly six months after an earlier fire.
Firefighters were sent to the two-storey building on the 800 block at 2:28 a.m. Tuesday and battled the blaze using an aerial ladder and other methods. They declared the fire under control at 5:18 a.m.
The duplex is set to be demolished because of structural concerns. Road closures in the area will remain in place until the work is completed.
The building became vacant after a fire on the night of Jan. 15.
