Kerri Einarson has officially struck a groove at the national women’s curling championship and is in the driver’s seat for a playoff spot with one game remaining in round-robin play.

The Gimli skip executed a perfectly placed draw to the top of the four-foot ring in an extra end earlier this morning, forcing Ontario’s Danielle Inglis into a tough run-back double-takeout attempt to keep the game alive. The first rock jammed, leaving Einarson with a score of two and an 8-6 victory at Fort William Gardens in Thunder Bay, Ont.

Einarson is 5-2 and atop Pool B.

Six teams remain in the hunt for one of three playoff spots, including fellow Manitobans Kate Cameron (4-3) and Kaitlyn Lawes (4-3), who will face Einarson in the final round-robin draw at 6 p.m. CT. Cameron, who defeated Yukon’s Bayly Scoffin 9-5 this morning, will play Christina Black of Nova Scotia in the same draw.
