Escaped inmates charged: police

Winnipeg police have released new details on the arrests of the two federal inmates who escaped from a minimum-security federal facility in Crane River on Oct. 30.
On Thursday police located inmate Cory Jeffery Everett, 39, near Arlington Street and Bannerman Avenue. During his arrest police say they found 77 grams of cocaine, a folding knife, airsoft pistol, replica brass knuckles and $170.
Everett has been charged with possession of a scheduled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000, three counts of possession of a weapon and a warrant for apprehension and suspension.
Police say Clifford Clinton Lamirande, 33, was found at an apartment complex on the 1200 block of Rothesay Street on Nov. 1 around 11:30 a.m. He was charged with a warrant for apprehension and suspension.
Both escapees were detained in custody.
