The province’s ethics commissioner, Jeffrey Schnoor, has announced his resignation.

MLA Tom Lindsey, the Speaker of the Manitoba Legislative Assembly, sent a news release on Schnoor’s decision Monday.

“On behalf of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, we extend our sincere appreciation to Mr. Schnoor for his steadfast dedication, professional integrity and many years of distinguished public service,” the release said.

Schnoor released a report in May saying former Progressive Conservative premier Heather Stefanson and cabinet ministers Cliff Cullen and Jeff Wharton broke conflict-of-interest laws after losing the 2023 election.
