Federal AI minister coming to Winnipeg

Ottawa’s artificial intelligence minister will address Winnipeg’s business crowd on the heels of unveiling Canada’s national AI strategy.

Minister Evan Solomon is slated for a Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce event Tuesday, July 7.

The minister is expected to speak about the strategy, which covers artificial intelligence adoption and sovereignty.

In the strategy, Ottawa promises free AI literacy training and legislation on concerns such as surveillance pricing.

The Winnipeg event is set to run from 10 a.m. to noon at Inn at The Forks.
