Fire crews battle two apartment blazes

The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to two fires on Tuesday evening.
The first involved an apartment building in the 300 block of Qu’Appelle Avenue downtown, just north of Portage Avenue.
Firefighters responded to reports around 7 p.m., and quickly declared the fire under control. No injuries were reported and the fire is under investigation, says a news release from the service.
The second fire was at a high-rise apartment building in the 200 block of Ronald Street in St. James near the Grace Hospital.
Responding to reports of the fire at 8 p.m., crews got the fire under control in about half an hour. One person was transported to the hospital in stable condition, according to a news release. This fire is also under investigation.
