Firefighter injured, hospitalized after Magnus Avenue blaze

One firefighter was injured early Tuesday morning as crews battled a blaze in the Burrows Central neighbourhood.
Firefighters responded to a structure fire on the 800 block of Magnus Avenue shortly before 3:30 a.m. and encountered smoke coming from a home. They attacked the fire and declared it under control about 45 minutes later, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service said in a news release.
The firefighter suffered an injury during the response, and paramedics brought them to the hospital in stable condition. No other injuries were reported, WFPS said.
Crews also responded to a fire on the 200 block of Gull Lake Road just after 5 p.m. Monday. Firefighters declared that blaze under control by 5:50 p.m. No injuries were reported.
Both fires remain under investigation, WFPS said.
