A man escaped injury when a float plane tipped upside down in the water while taxiing to shore on the Winnipeg River.
Lac Du Bonnet RCMP were sent to the scene at 2:31 p.m. Monday and were told the pilot had safely landed the plane, but the right float later went underwater. The pilot and sole occupant of the plane, a 27-year-old Snow Lake man, was able to escape just before the plane tipped, police said in a news release Tuesday.
The Transportation Safety Board of Canada has been advised about the incident, and RCMP are helping with the investigation.
