Business owner Rebecca Chartrand is the Liberal candidate looking to unseat NDP MP Niki Ashton in the upcoming federal election.
Chartrand, the president and CEO of consulting company Indigenous Strategy, confirmed she was in the running Wednesday. She ran against Ashton in 2015 and was just 912 votes short of winning.
She said she planned to run with a focus on economic development and support for the largely Indigenous riding.
The Free Press has reached out to Ashton for comment.
