A familiar face is temporarily at the helm of United Way Winnipeg while the charitable organization seeks a new president and CEO.

Connie Walker returned as interim president and CEO two weeks ago, taking over from Michael Richardson, who resigned for personal reasons in February.

“This decision did not come lightly nor without careful consideration for United Way Winnipeg and our community,” a United Way email said of Richardson’s departure.

Richardson, a former Blue Bombers running back, began work in May 2023. He took over from Walker when she retired after eight years in the role.
