Four dead in plane crash near St. Theresa Point

Four people have died in a plane crash south of St. Theresa Point First Nation on Saturday night.
Two 50-year-old women and two men aged 53 and 49 have died. The four were passengers on a flight from St. Theresa Point to Makepeace Lake in northern Manitoba. The aircraft went down about 40 kilometres south of St. Theresa Point, RCMP stated in a news release Sunday. The pilot, a 20-year-old man, survived with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Island Lake RCMP officers attended the crash site, along with search and rescue personnel from the Canadian Forces Base at Trenton.
The Transportation Safety Board of Canada has been notified and has deployed personnel to the site, the RCMP release stated. The crash remains under investigation.
