Four people are facing charges after a series of violent incidents in Chemawawin Cree Nation.

RCMP were sent to the first incident, a fight between one person and two others at a home, shortly after after 9:35 p.m. Thursday, but all three people were gone.

RCMP were contacted again after a 27-year-old man was stabbed in the leg shortly after 11 p.m. that night. He was treated at the nursing station and released, and police identified a man in connection with the first incident.

At 7:45 p.m. Friday, RCMP were told several males, including the one they were seeking, threatened a 22-year-old woman inside her home with a knife. She suffered minor injuries, Manitoba RCMP said in a news release Tuesday.

Early Saturday, at 4:30 a.m., RCMP were called about an attempted break-in. A fight involving several people outside a home spilled onto the roadway. One person was taken to hospital. A person living at the home said the same group of people had shown up the night before, armed with knives and a BB gun.

Chemawawin RCMP and First Nation safety officers arrested two people Saturday afternoon. Two other people were arrested after RCMP made a traffic stop.

Three men — ages 31, 24 and 20 — and a 23-year-old woman are facing various charges, including forcible confinement.
