Gas leak on Riverton Avenue

City fire crews raced to a natural gas leak in the 300 block of Riverton Avenue around 6 p.m. Friday.

Seven houses were evacuated after a gas line near the road was found to be leaking. A Transit bus was used for temporary shelter for residents.

Manitoba Hydro was summoned and repaired the leak by 7:30 p.m.

No one was injured.
