Group rallies to support Dynacare workers

The 1919 Workers Collective / Workers’ Alliance Winnipeg rallied outside Labour and Immigration Minister Malaya Marcelino’s office Sunday afternoon, beginning at 2 p.m., in support of Dynacare workers.

A Manitoba Labour Board ruling on Sept. 8 ended the lab employees’ strike.

“Dynacare workers are not just suffering worse working conditions in comparison to health-care professionals in other countries, or other provinces, but to their public counterparts here in our own province,” said the 1919 Workers Collective Executive Committee in a statement.

“When Dynacare workers attempted to close this gap with a strike, the Manitoba NDP sided with the company, forcing workers back to work.”
