Health Canada issued a recall for a specific brand of Thanksgiving turkey, just two days before the holiday.

The recall, published Saturday morning, identifies a non-harmful microbial contamination and possible spoilage of Sunrise Farms Young Turkey with giblets.

“Do not use, sell, serve or distribute the affected product,” the federal health authority said, adding the recalled product has been sold in Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

Sobeys and Safeway both published alerts on their websites, encouraging customers to return any Sunrise Grade A Fresh Turkey (5-8 kilograms) with a best-before date of Oct. 11.

The stores are offering full refunds.
