Health-care aide program expands

The University College of the North will quadruple the number of seats in its health-care aide training program.

The post-secondary institution, located in Thompson and The Pas, will use $619,000 in provincial funding to increase the number of seats from 30 to 130, UNC said in a news release Friday.

The expansion ensures more trained professionals can enter the workforce to meet growing demand in northern Manitoba, the release said.
