Police are warning the public about a high-risk offender who’s been released from jail to live in Winnipeg.

Marcel Hank Charlette, 51, is a high risk to reoffend against men, women and children in a sexual and/or violent manner, the Winnipeg Police Service stated in a bulletin Monday.

Charlette was released from Headingley Correctional Centre Nov. 24 after serving the equivalent of a three-year sentence for assault and failing to comply with the conditions of a release order. He is subject to a daily curfew as part of his release.

He was convicted of manslaughter in the death of a two-year-old in 1991.
