High wind advisory for Lake Winnipeg and south basin of Lake Manitoba

High winds are set to develop Wednesday morning along the south basin of Lake Manitoba and western shorelines near Gimli and Victoria Beach on the east side of Lake Winnipeg.
Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure’s Hydrologic Forecast Centre has warned that northwest winds could gust up to 85 kilometres an hour, resulting in wave action raising by five feet or more. Winds are set to start in the morning and last until the early afternoon.
People in the area should remain vigilant and take any precautions needed. A map of affected areas can be found here.
