A temporary rest stop at Devils Lake on Highway 6 has been made permanent, the provincial government said Friday.
The rest stop, which has washroom and garbage facilities, was installed as part of a pilot project last year. A temporary rest stop further north by Williams River, which was also part of the project, remains open for public use.
“The rest stop at Devils Lake not only provides a much-needed place to rest and recharge, but also improves safety, accessibility and comfort for Manitobans travelling along this remote stretch of highway,” Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Lisa Naylor said in a news release.
“This permanent facility reflects our commitment to supporting rural communities and the safe infrastructure they require.”
