The hits keep coming for the Winnipeg Jets.

Forwards Mark Scheifele and Morgan Barron have joined the growing list of players battling illness and won’t play a preseason game tonight in Calgary as originally scheduled.

Kyle Connor and Gabe Vilardi have also been under the weather recently and also won’t be in the lineup against the Flames, although both skated on their own Monday morning.

Forward Colby Barlow also missed most of training camp with a bug. He was returned to his junior team this weekend.

Brad Lambert and Dominic Toninato, who were both sent to the Manitoba Moose on Sunday, will be recalled to take Scheifele and Barron’s spots tonight against the Calgary Flames.

Winnipeg will also sit out several players battling minor injuries including Nikolaj Ehlers, Nate Schmidt, Declan Chisholm, Elias Salomonsson, Henri Nikkanen and Danny Zhilkin.

The Jets wrap up their six-game preseason slate on Thursday when they host the Ottawa Senators at Canada Life Centre. The regular-season begins Oct. 11.
