The Winnipeg Jets downed the Calgary Flames 5-2 on Sunday evening at Canada Life Centre.

Forward Gabe Vilardi led the way with two goals and two assists, while Mark Scheifele, Kyle Connor and Mason Appleton had the others.

Backup goalie Eric Comrie stopped 20 of 22 shots to snap a personal eight-game winless streak.

Winnipeg improves to 34-14-3 and remains on top of the Central Division and Western Conference standings.

The Jets now hit the road for three straight games starting Tuesday in Montreal.
