Jets begin road trip with third straight loss

WASHINGTON — The Winnipeg Jets started a five-game road trip with a 4-3 loss to the Washington Capitals on Wednesday night.
Gabe Vilardi scored twice, while Mark Scheifele had the other goal for the visitors.
John Carlson, Jakob Chychrun, Alex Ovechkin and Connor McMichael had the goals for the home team.
Winnipeg has now lost three straight games and are 12-10-0 on the year. Washington improves to 13-9-2.
The Jets will head to Raleigh where they face the Carolina Hurricanes on Friday afternoon.
