SAN JOSE — The Winnipeg Jets lost 2-1 in overtime to the San Jose Sharks on Sunday afternoon.

Morgan Barron opened the scoring for the visitors just 2:44 into the game, but that’s all the offence they could muster.

San Jose forward Will Smith tied the game early in the third period, and then Michael Misa won it during the three-on-three session.

Connor Hellebuyck stopped 31 of 33 shots he faced, while Alex Nedeljkovic turned aside 27 of 28 pucks.

The Jets are now 23-26-10 on the season, including 1-0-2 on this three-game road trip. The Sharks improve to 29-25-4.

Winnipeg now returns home to play eight straight games starting Tuesday night against the Chicago Blackhawks.
