ST. LOUIS — The Winnipeg Jets are limping home from St. Louis after a second straight lopsided defeat that has turned their best-of-seven playoff series into a best-of-three.

A 5-1 loss to the Blues on Sunday afternoon has the first-round matchup tied 2-2.

Jets forward Kyle Connor opened the scoring in the first period but it was all downhill from there, with the home team scoring five unanswered goals and eventually chasing starting goaltender Connor Hellebuyck from a second straight game.

St. Louis won Game 3 last Thursday by a 7-2 score after Winnipeg had grabbed the first two in their rink.

The series now shifts to Canada Life Centre for a crucial Game 5 on Wednesday. Game 6 is now guaranteed to go down Friday in St. Louis. Should a Game 7 be necessary, the winner-take-all affair would happen next Sunday in Winnipeg.
