Just like that, the Winnipeg Jets have won three of the past four games.

The Jets took another important step towards leaving behind a rough patch that included going 1-4 to start the season-long six-game road trip by earning a 5-2 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets at Canada Life Centre, Tuesday.

On a night when he became the franchise leader for games played (898), Jets centre Mark Scheifele chipped in three assists to pace the offensive attack as his team improved to 12-7-0 for the season.

Adam Lowry, Josh Morrissey, Neal Pionk, Kyle Connor and Logan Stanley scored the goals for the Jets, who continue a three-game homestand on Friday against Nikolaj Ehlers and the Carolina Hurricanes.

Jets backup goalie Eric Comrie made 20 saves to improve to 4-1.
