Jets earn first win of season

The Winnipeg Jets have notched their first win of the new hockey season.
A 3-2 victory over the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday afternoon at Canada Life Centre was powered by two Mark Scheifele goals, including the game-winner with just over eight minutes left in the third period. Alex Iafallo had the other tally for the home team.
Connor Hellebuyck was terrific in net, stopping 30 of 32 shots he faced.
Mikey Anderson and Adrian Kempe scored for the visitors.
Winnipeg improves to 1-1-0, while Los Angeles falls to 1-2-0.
The Jets now hit the road for a pair of games starting Monday afternoon against the New York Islanders.
