The Manitoba Moose blue line is getting a significant boost as they prepare to open the Calder Cup playoffs.
The Winnipeg Jets announced on Wednesday morning that defenceman Elias Salomonsson has been loaned to their American Hockey League affiliate, which means he’s passed his baseline test and been removed from concussion protocol.
Salomonsson, who is the Jets’ top defence prospect, appeared in 32 NHL games this season but was sidelined after a reverse hit from Dallas Stars forward Jason Robertson, forcing him to miss the final seven contests.
The Moose open a best-of-three series with the Milwaukee Admirals at 7 p.m. at Canada Life Centre.
