Scott Arniel has added a pair of longtime NHL assistant coaches to the Winnipeg Jets staff in Dean Chynoweth and Davis Payne.
Chynoweth, 55, spent the past three seasons running the defence corps and penalty kill with the Toronto Maple Leafs and also has experience with the Carolina Hurricanes and New York Islanders to go along with 241 games of NHL experience as a defenceman with the Islanders and Boston Bruins.
Payne, 53, spent part of three seasons as the head coach of the St. Louis Blues and spent the past five seasons an assistant coach with the Ottawa Senators. He also was an assistant coach with the Buffalo Sabres and and an assistant with the Los Angeles Kings to go along with 22 games of experience playing as a forward with the Bruins.
Chynoweth will run the defence and the penalty kill, while Payne will run the forwards and the power play.
They join a staff that also includes assistant coach Marty Johnston and goalie coach Wade Flaherty.
