The Winnipeg Jets set a new franchise record Monday night with their 53rd win of the season, downing the visiting St. Louis Blues 3-1 at Canada Life Centre.

Morgan Barron opened the scoring, Alex Iafallo broke the tie in the third period and captain Adam Lowry sealed it with an empty-netter as the Jets moved five points ahead of the idle Dallas Stars for top spot in the Central Division and Western Conference.

Connor Hellebuyck tied his own franchise record with his 44th victory, stopping 14 of 15 shots he faced.

The Jets now hit the road for a pair of games starting Thursday night in Dallas.
