CHICAGO – The Winnipeg Jets are regular-season champions of both the Central Division and the Western Conference.
That’s the first time that’s happened in Winnipeg’s NHL history, either the 1.0 or 2.0 eras.
Winnipeg entered play tonight in Chicago needing just a single point to wrap up the No. 1 seed. The end result was a 5-4 shootout win against the Blackhawks.
Winnipeg is now 55-21-4 on the year.
They have two regular-season games remaining beginning Sunday night against Edmonton.
