Kelvin High School has issued a “medical lockdown” as emergency personnel respond to an incident inside the River Heights building.

The Winnipeg Police Service confirmed it responded to a call about “a wellbeing type of situation” at the Grade 9-12 school around 11:45 a.m. Tuesday.

Radean Carter, spokeswoman for the Winnipeg School Division, indicated the high school has restricted internal movement for the safety and privacy of the student involved.

“Things are under control and there’s no safety concerns for the public or the students,” Const. Dani McKinnon told the Free Press.
